Post subject:  Need help with inherited pottery identification

I inherited this piece of pottery from my mother, who received it from her grandmother. My great grandmother was from Vinciennes Ind. and my great grandfather was from Zanesville OH. I inherited two planters, one I rather easily identified as a piece of Robinson Ransbottom sun and moon pattern planter...I'm not sure if knowing that will help.

It has stilt marks on the bottom along with the number 564. I have included a picture of the chip on the rim, I thought this might also help determine the materials used.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I lived in IN for about 7 yrs. I moved to different locals each & every year. I've lived in Speedway, Indianapolis (off of 83rd street), Avon, Fishers, Kokomo & Evensville. I know where Vincennes is on a map. :) I miss the state.
Anyway, your piece is very cool. It looks like Roseville at a cursory glance. McCoy & others copied forms/colors/glaze too though. Without significant investigation...it is definitely from Ohio.
You aren't considering selling it are you? Unless your mother & grandma beat you as a kid, I urge you to hold on to it. :) It's a tangible thing that holds their energy & remembrance.
Only my 2 cents,
Tyler
